September Mission: Corning Meals on Wheels
Corning Meals on Wheels is a neighbors-helping-neighbors solution in the fight against senior hunger and isolation. Our volunteers help prepare and deliver meals for 125 - 135 homebound & frail older adults in the greater Corning – Painted Post area each weekday. Each week, nearly 200 volunteers donate their time and talent helping area seniors age safely in place. We provide this much needed nutrition with very little government funding, which covers less than 16% of the cost of providing the meals. Thanks to our generous donors and caring volunteers, we prepared & delivered 55,680 meals for 269 different seniors in 2023. We are on track to match that number again in 2024, and we need your help.
